Privacy Policy

What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains what information Best Window Curtains collects when you visit this website, how it is used, and what choices you have. This website is a guide to window curtains. It does not sell curtains, and it does not ask you to create an account.

If you have any questions about this policy, you can reach us through the Contact page.

Information you give us

The only information you give us directly is what you send us by email: your email address and your message. We use that information only to read your message and to reply to it. We do not share it, sell it, or add it to any mailing list.

You are not required to email us. You can read every guide on this site without giving us any information about yourself.

Information collected automatically

When you visit this site, our hosting provider collects basic technical information automatically, as every website host does. This includes your IP address, the type of browser and device you use, the pages you visit, and the date and time of your visit.

Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, also collects usage data on our behalf: the pages you visit, how long you stay, and how you arrived at the site. It does not collect your name or email address.

We use this information to run the site, to keep it secure, and to understand which guides are read. It is not used to identify you personally, and it is not combined with any information you send us by email.

Cookies

This site uses cookies. A cookie is a small file stored in your browser. We use cookies to keep the site working and secure, Google Analytics sets cookies to measure how the site is used, and Amazon may set a cookie when you click one of our affiliate links. Our full Cookie Policy explains which cookies are used and how to manage them.

Amazon affiliate links

This site contains links to products on Amazon.com. When you click one of those links, you leave this site and go to Amazon. Amazon collects information about your visit under its own privacy policy, which we do not control.

If you buy something after clicking one of our links, Amazon may pay this site a commission. That does not change the price you pay. Our Affiliate Disclosure explains this in full.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to run and improve this website, to answer messages sent to us by email, and to protect the site from abuse. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it to anyone.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where the site needs it to work: with our hosting provider, which hosts this site and protects it from abuse, with Google, which measures how the site is used through Google Analytics, and with Amazon, when you choose to click an Amazon link. All three companies handle data under their own privacy policies.

How long we keep it

Messages sent to us by email are kept only as long as needed to read them and reply. Technical log data collected by our host is kept for a short period and then deleted automatically. Analytics data is kept by Google for a limited period and then deleted automatically.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us for a copy of a message you sent, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. To do that, send a message through the Contact page and tell us what you would like changed. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, as explained in our Cookie Policy.

Children's privacy

This website is written for adults who are choosing curtains for their homes. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please tell us through the Contact page and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if the site starts using a new service. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. The version on this page is the one that applies.
